Bike Trip KLUV 98.7 FM - April 2009

One of the local "Oldie" radio stations was hosting a Biker Fund Raiser event for "My Friend's House Family and Children Services, Inc." I had a few spare hours and decided to join the event.

When I hear a radio personality I make a mental picture of them in my head. I didn't go to their web page to see if I was correct or not. Just kept the mental picture. I mostly listen to these guys while I am sleep walking on the treadmill at Bally Total Fitness early in the morning. I also catch them on my commute when it is either raining or below 50 degrees (which is frigid for a Texan). The rest of the time I'm on the sporty.

I'm not sure what I expected. Jody Dean was just an average Joe. Jonathan Hays is a biker dude with the tats to make that statement for him. Bernie Mack strikes a strong resemblance to Arty Johnson (folks my age remember Laugh-in).

This ride was throughout the Metroplex and I must admit that it took away from the enjoyment. Rather than looking around I was dodging heavy traffic. I was also in unfamiliar areas. However, the unfamiliar areas are now familiar and we had some interesting businesses to stop at during the poker run. Of course it goes without saying that winning the poker run would have made it much more enjoyable.

Not much more to add. The event made ~$15K so I would say it was a success. Check out the photos below.
