The Year 2016 Resulted In The Sportster Being In The Garage With The Battery Tender On.
I Joined A Really Fine Motorcycle Riding Club Called "Allen TX Easy Riders" With Members That Just Like To Ride. Mostly Day Trips.
In February I Purchased New Tires That Didn't See Much Use In 2016. While On A Ride In February, In A Parking Lot, With The Engine Off, My Left Foot Started To Slip On Some Loose Rock. When I Pushed Off To Keep Myself Upright, I Broke The 5th Metatarsal In My Left Foot And Then Fell Down.
A Few Days Later I Went To The Doctor, Then To The Surgeon And Then Into Surgery. It Was A Bad Shatter And Laid Me Up With A "No Weight On The Foot" Directive.
Unfortunately With A No Weight Directive I Wasn't Very Active Which Lead To Me Throwing A Blood Clot Causing A Pulmonary Embolism, A Week's Stay In The Hospital And Being Put On Blood Thinners For 9 Months. The Reason That Being Out On Blood Thinners Is Important Is That It's Really Not A Good Idea To Increase The ProbabilityOf Injury And Internal Bleeding While On Blood Thinners. The Result - No Motorcycle Riding.
Toward The End Of December I Was Taken Off The Blood Thinners, Caught One Ride With The Allen TX Easy Riders And Broke In Those New Tires.
Hopefully 2017 Will Have A More Interesting Entry In The Motorcycle Diaries.
